what are some things that were historically accurate about that movie!? i watched it last night - AWESOME!
i know the basic story line is accurate!.!.!.
but the fighting style and how they were so accepting with the treatment of the queen and how young they sent the boys out and stuff all intrigued me!.
does anyone know anything interesting about anything relating to that movie or historical events!?

Even to what King Leonidas had to say in the movie was written as what he actually said by Herodotus!. The queen, whose name was Gorga, was not only loved by Leonidas but he relied on her council!. As mother goddess to her people, she did have, not only legal rights, but had the options to take what lovers she wanted!. There was no stigmata, as they protrayed in the movie!. The name of the Island was Ogygia , it is where the males were sent to prove themselves, the females were trained as well but it was secretive, and there is not much known on what really went on, but if you read mythology, you can pretty well guess, their training was just as harsh!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Actually suprisingly most of the enitre movie was historically correct!. They did toss any weird (sickly) looking children away and they did train them as soon as they could hold a weapon!. etc!. but yeh most of the movie was infact historically correct!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The movie was based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller which was based on the historical events but i think that since it was based on the graphic novel more than history it can be a bit out there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
All of it was pretty accurate!. The Spartans really did send their boys out very young, they "disposed" of any babies who were too small, and they taught the boys to fight at young ages!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
