The legend of Sweeney Todd was originally an old piece of Folklore in England (kind of like the "boogie-man", he was a character kids talked about to scare each other)!. The original story was probably not exactly the same, re: the judge, the revenge, or even the meat pies!. But about 20 years back or so, Stephen Sondheim took the legend and tweaked it to create the broadway musical "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street"!. The movie stays pretty true to the Broadway show!. The gore in the film is a bit over the top -- mostly pretty campy, until the final scene!.
As a Sondheim fan more than a Depp fan, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how good Johnny was in this one!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Long ago Sweeny Todd is convicted of a crime he didn't commit because another man is jealous of his wife and wants her for himself!. When Todd is released he returns to his home to take revenge on the man who sent him to prison!. He takes a room above a woman who makes pies for a living!. When he kills for the first time the woman gets the idea to use the meat from people to make her pies!. Along the way they meet a young man who is in love with the judges ward, who turns out to be Todd's daughter so he decides to help this young man and get his revenge at the same time!. Most of the story is done through the songs and some of them are hilarious!. The killings are very graphic and the twist at the end is very unexpected!. All in all a very good movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

This is a musical, and AMAZING! It is definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen!.

It;s a musical actually, about a barber!.!.!.!.who basicly looses control after being convicted of something he was innocent of!. He starts killing people and hiding the bodies, then cooking them and serving the food to others who find it delicous!. BTW: The judge was after Sweeny's wife, so needless to say: the judge became a meal!!!

I haven't seen it but I believe it's about a duda named sweeney todd, who gets thrown in jail for life for a crime he did not commit!. This is because another man lusts for Sweeney's wife!. When he gets out of jail he decides to take vengeance, and moves back to the town, and becomes a barber!. He proceeds to kill everyone who gets their haircut/beard trimmed!. And he makes meat pies out of them!. And by the way I also believe it's a musical!. Basically its a musical!. don't let this put you off!. Johnny Depp is amazing (as usual) in it!. Its about a barber who is unjustly put in jail and has his life ruined by a rich and evil man!. He escapes and comes back a changed man, looking for revenge!.
