Question: Movie Admittance Question!?
Me and my friend are 14 years old and want to go see The Strangers!. My mom is allowing it and she said she will go to the front desk and say "Hi, I am this little girls mother and this is her friend!. I am allowing them to see the rated R movie, the strangers!. I am here to buy them tickets!. I will not watch the movie with them" Will they let her buy us the tickets or not!? Will she have to sit through the whole movie with us!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
sorry hun but your mom has to stay with you!. I know that sucks and we all had to go thought the same thing !. I guess it's just another part of life!Www@Enter-QA@Com

from the Motion Picture Association of America's website:

"An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material!. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously!. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian!. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children!. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures!."

generally, and in my experience, the policy of theaters is that they will not allow a parent or guardian to simply purchase the tickets and leave!. it has been my experience that they will require your mom to accompany you into the theater and that she stay for the duration!. i have been in theaters where underage people have been escorted out in the middle of the film!.

of course, whether or not any given theater will enforce those policies is another matter altogether!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My friend tried to do this!.!. 3 of us are of age but she wasn't so she asked a random lady to pose as her mother and buy her ticket (she was going to see a different movie) but because the lady wouldn't be going into the movie with her it isn't allowed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

This question is stupid!. You mom is going to tell the ticket sellers that she is going to let them watch a movie inappropriate for their age!. Irresponsible much!?

Of course they are going to stop you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm afraid she will have to go in to the movie, you have to be "accompanied by an adult" if your not 18!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
