Titanic!. Because of the three greatly over rated pictures of all time it is the only one of the three that one Best Picture!.
I know you said only best picture winners but to be honest two of the three are considered bigger than the one that did win for their year!.
The three most overrated movies ever are Citizen Kane, Star Wars, and Titanic!.!.!.!. All three of these are overated, because at the end of the day they are *only* really great movies and nothing more!.
Citizen Kane did not eliminate the differences between the rich and the poor, Star Wars had never caused the over throw of any oppressive government, and Titanic did not create and era of great emotional understanding between men and women!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My husband thinks Titanic was really overrated, namely b/c he can't stand Leonardo DiCaprio!. lol I really loved the movie the first couple of times but it's so emotionally demanding that you can't just watch it for an evening's entertainment!.!.!.you have to really be ready to cry and/or feel for the people, who are going down with the ship, for the 14th time!.!.!.hehe!. So while it is a good movie, I choose Titanic b/c it's not easy to watch over and over!.!.!.!.which is my definition of a "favorite movie!." (My fave movie is Fried Green Tomatoes and I could watch that movie once a week at least!.!.!.!.I've lost count of how many times I've watched it!.)
also, I agree with you that Crash was a bit overrated!. It was an ok movie the first time I watched it but even then I still didn't really get the point of it all--there was no clear plot--it was more like a bunch of vignettes of people's lives, all meshed together to try and make a movie out of it!.!.!.!.which didn't really work for me!. I got their point, of racial equality and the whole "one world" philosophy thing!.!.!.!.but it still was too disjointed for my taste, and I also kinda got the sense that the movie makers were trying to preach to us!. Anyway that's my 2 cents!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

That's interesting!. I think that the best choices they've made in the last few years have been Gladiator, Braveheart, and Crash!. And you're right btw!.!.!.Brokeback Mountain was beaten by Crash, thank God!. Those are three of my favorite movies of all time!. Most overrated though:

Titanic: Okay, the love between two people of different classes, I'll give it that!. But other than that it, was a big snoozefest!. I don't know why people love this movie so much, not to mention the theme song!.(It's really annoying!.)

Then my vote goes to Marty Scorcese's "The Departed"!.
