Answers:
Oh yes they could make it , but it would not make money and would be protested , no doubt!. Politically correctness has made the general public overly sensitive to what was seen as just for laughs !. I personally come from that time period , loved the movie laughed my guts out , but I am not a racist, sexist, pig!.!.!. etc , I also cried watching "Roots" and "Planet of the apes"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, not the way it was!. And it's not just about PC- Mel Brooks wasn't out to degrade anyone!. Fortunately society has grown up (somewhat, anyway) and it's no big deal for 'different' people to do every kind of job and for everyone to mingle, instead of being isolated from each other (segregated!?)!. On Tuesday, Orange County, CA got a female sheriff!.

But certain things just aren't run-of-the-mill enough anymore to be satirized!. It would be hard to find a real-life a character to match Cleavon Little's exaggerated Bart, so there's no reference for it to be funny!.

Amos 'N Andy was a program on radio and TV (a long time ago!) that wasn't meant satirize; it just meant to show how, supposedly, two black friends interacted!. People thought it was funny because it was so different than the people in the average audience!. There were attempts to bring it back, maybe through TVLand, but the idea got scratched!. I don't think so much as trying to be PC than that most people in 2008 just wouldn't find it funny anymore (there's no reference) = they wouldn't watch = few ad dollars!.

Aunt Jemima pancake syrup!? Sambo's restaurants!? "Gone With The Wind" characters!? I think it would be hard to find images and real people like these anymore!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No!. Think of all the movies that wouldn't be made today, like
Dirty Harry: "I gots to know!" "Do you feel lucky, punk!?', etc!.

and songs:

Pinball Wizard, by The Who: "That deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball"!. Well I guess they could do it today, but it would be "That hearing-impaired, intelligence-impaired and visually-impaired kid sure plays a mean pinball"!. Just doesn't have quite the same feel, know what I mean!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Absolutely not!. And even then, only Mel Brooks could have made it!. also, he got away with a lot because it showed the white racists using the "N" word as the complete morons they are!.

"Pardon me while I whip this out!." Too, too funny!

But hey! Look at the Producers!. Who but Mel could have gotten away with a movie about a musical about Hitler!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

it was always a funny movie!.!.!.
my answer is no, not with the way things are now, and definitely not since a black man is runnin' for president---it might offend his sensibilities!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sure, it is a parody and they are given a lttle leeway!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Most likely not!.!.!.but it sure was funny, wasn't it!?!?!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
