The ship RMS Titanic was a real ship!. It really sunk!. The folks in the movie were not real!. They did not exist!. Jack Dawson did not die, because he was a figment of the screenwriter's imagination!. See!?

The Titanic existed because it was a real ship and it really did sink!. The ship was built to be the first of it's kind!. The largest passenger steamship in the world (in 1912) and it was supposed to be unsinkable!. There have been lots of movies and documentaries made about the Titanic!.
Rose and Jack were not real people!. They were just people the screenwriter imagined might have been on the ship!. The "character" Jack did really die in the movie!.
Some of the people in the Titanic movie were indeed real and were included in the movie, for instance people such as:

Benjamin Guggenheim
Margaret Brown also know as Molly Brown!. She was one of the lucky ones to get on a lifeboat and was nicknamed "The unsinkable Molly Brown"!.
