I heard that there will be an American version of Death Note

A 2007 article in The Star (Malaysia) states that more than ten film companies in the United States expressed interest in creating a remake!. Vertigo Entertainment is currently set to develop a US Death Note remake, with Vlas and Charles Parlapandies writing the screenplay!.

I'm sure that's a rumour , because my brother and my friend are HUGE FANS , and they'd know!.
I loved the Japanese one , and no offense or anything , but remakes of films alway end up!.!. not as good!.
It's too!.!. Americanized!? Like , " The Eye " or " One Missed Call " for example!.
Man , I loved those movies , until America made a remake!.
I'm not saying the American ones always suck , It's just , The original version can't be beat (:
