Question: Continuing the Star Wars saga or start over at the beginning!?
Since George Lucas is going the way of animation for his latest Star Wars film, wouldn't it have been a better idea to continue with the events after Return of the Jedi!? Or, do you think it would have been wiser to go back to the days of the Old Republic during the Jedi-Sith war!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

The licensed novels have covered the events after ROTJ pretty well, and the Dark Horse comics have focused on the Old Republic days!.
The only period Lucas has not allowed the novels and comics to cover are the years between Episodes 3 and 4, as this is where he wants to tell his next stories!. I know "Last of the Jedi" books and "Dark Times" comics have started to explore this time, but not to a great extent yet!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Considering how much time has passed since Jedi came out and the age of the actors now they would have to make the story around Leia and Han's jedi twins!. I don't think you could stick with the same characters!. also, you would have to develop a whole new story line (which might not be bad but Lucas seems to be losing it lately if you ask me)!. By going back to the Days of the Old Republic you have an established history that has already been outlined which will add some intrigue into the past of a lot of the characters and situations that people already know and love!. But then again that's what the last 3 movies did so I think I'm going to reverse my own opinion mid-answer and say that it would be more interesting to continue the events but I think it would be very difficult to come up with a new intriguing story!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think Lucas is focusing on the Jedi/Sith war and the events between Episodes III - IV because he can be the ultimate authority on those storylines; there've been many books written about the New Republic, and many fans think Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy is the best post-Jedi series in print!. If Lucas were to do something different, it might anger some of the fans (not that he hasn't done that already, but I wonder if there'll eventually be two groups of fans: the "Episodes Fans" [I-III] and the "Trilogy Fans" [IV-VI]!?)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think it is better to do it the way he is, with the Old Republic because there are still a lot of unexplained events that happen between episode two and three!. also The video gave "The Force Unleashed" will explain a lot between 3 and 4!. I definately think it is better to complete the story as whole before he tries to explain what happens after JediWww@Enter-QA@Com
Depends!. It was great hype and special effects but poor acting and the story wasnt really finished!.!.!.otherwise we wouldnt have prequels, sequels, midquels!.!.!.lol!. However, I think it would be better to see what happens after Luke!. There was a rumor that Princess Leia hones her Jedi abilities, Luke falls to the darkside and their confrontation being inevitable!.!.!.!.but what cna i say!. Only a rumor!Www@Enter-QA@Com
