Black and White Film?!

Question: Black and White Film!?
When was the last black and white movie made!? Please don't count anything from the 80's to most recent!. The reason for this question is because I was watching a movie with Natalie Wood from 1963, in black and white!. Yet a movie she made 2 years prior was in color!. I assume this was because of budget!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
If you're asking when studios finally converted to color and directors began using black and white as symbolic in their films, it's hard to say!. In the 1960s and 70s, John Cassavettes used black and white as a type of message in his bleak, yet cheaply made movies!. Woody Allen made "Manhattan" in 1979 and it was in black and white!. "The Apartment" came out in 1960 and it was in black and white yet there color movies being released all through the 50's!. The movie with Natalie Wood was probably "Splendor in the Grass", but she made "West Side Story" in 1961 which was in color!. And "Rebel Without a Cause" in 1955 which was also in color!. You'd probably have to go to a film historian to find the exact answer to your question, but it's still a hard question!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
