Question: Do people still buy regular dvds!?
I ask because it seems alot fo people buy the blue ray or hd dvd!.
I mean I really don't see the point in buying a blue ray for close to 30 dollars when the regualr dvd is a bit more cheaper!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I HATE that everything's switching the Blu-Ray now!. I just got used to DVDs! Personally, I think that DVDs are still great and wonderful and I've never had or even considered an inadequacy as far as sound or visual quality!.
There's no point in making a switch and I know many people who love DVDs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I buy regular DVDs, because:
1) I don't see too much difference between high-def and normal!. I watched my friend's HDTV for three hours and didn't realise it was HD until she told me later on!.
2) I don't have a HDTV, or anything that plays Blu-Ray or HD-DVD!.
3) DVDs are just so cheap! Zavvi sell a lot of good movies for €5-€8, just because they're not the most recent!. You can pick up 'Michael Collins' for €6 for example!.
4) Everything that's released on Blu-Ray or HD-DVD is still released on ordinary DVD too, so I'm not missing out on any movies!.
5) I can play DVDs on my PS2, which doesn't play Blu-Ray or HD-DVD!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I buy the normal DVDs!.
1!. I'm tired of buying new equipment every few years when the manufacturers come up with something "better!."
2!. Unless you have a big screen high-def TV, the high-def discs look virtually the same as other DVDs!. You have to play them side-by-side and look hard to see much difference!.
3!. My eyes are not so keen that the small amount of extra definition in the new discs make the picture look much better anyway!.
4!. I'm watching for entertainment, not to analyze the pores on some actor's face!. Normal DVDs are just fine with me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I still buy em!. I don't have any issues with bad sound or picture quality on the regular ones!. Plus, some I've bought are likely in the D class low budget stuff!. Most of the ones I buy in that category I usually pick up for $2-$4 new!. Plus, I doubt they'd even be released on BluRay or HD!. I have bought a handful of reg!. DVD at top price, $25-$40, but most are movies I've got in my top 15-20 all time!.
I just took a look at some I've bought!. If you can find movies like Mind Storm, The Taxman, Phil the Alien, Blood Reaper or Heebie Jeebies on BluRay or HD I'd be surprised lol!. But they were only $2 each so what the heck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I tend to buy both!.
If its a movie that I realy like I will buy it on Blu Ray!. If its a movie for the kids I usually buy it on regular dvd since I have had to buy more than one copy of a few movies that the kids have watched to death!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
