I'm 16 and I recently saw Sweeney Todd!. Although it was a very good movie, I guess it really depends on the maturity level of your child!. But to be honest, the only bad thing about this movie was it was very graphic!. For example, when Sweeney Todd was killing people it actually showed you what happened as he was cutting the persons neck off!. There was also some inappropraite language, but once again if you believe your child can understand and enjoy this movie like an adult would, then go ahead and let them watch it!Another thing you might want to do, is watch the movie by yourself first and then decide whether or not your child will be frightened by these graphic scenes!. But even if they really wanted to see it you could just skip the graphic parts or have your child close their eyes, because you usually can tell when these parts are coming!. I'm not sure if you have already seen this movie, but below I have pasted some of the content that makes it rated R!.
Sex & Nudity
Some women wear lowcut dresses!. Lucy was raped by Judge Turpin!. No nudity is shown!.
Violence & Gore
Sweeney Todd beats Pirelli with a boiling tea kettle, then slits his throat!. Five nameless men get their throat slit by Sweeney, then fall through a trap door on to their heads!. Those six people's flesh is baked into meat pies!. Sweeney Todd also slits the thoat of the Beadle, although, not on screen, his corpse falls on the ground, and brain splatters everywhere!. also he slits the throat of the Beggar Woman/ Lucy!. Next, he stabs judge Turpin in his jugular with a razor three times, then slashes his throat!. Sweeney Todd throws Nellie Lovett in an oven, and you see her burning!. Sweeney Todd's throat is slit by Tobias Ragg!. There is lot's of blood in this movie, and the violence is meant to look artistic, yet graphic!. Body count eleven!.

Frightening/Intense Scenes
The themes of the film are vengeance and murder!. The throat slittings are disturbing!. Todd also stabs a man in the neck very brutally, and two men are beaten badly, one to the point of unconsciousness!. A woman is thrown into a furnace and we see her burn (This isn't very graphic but is still very disturbing)!. A young boy is trapped in a dungeon filled with bloody bodies for a period of time!. A young boy slits the neck of a man!. You see girls locked in a asylum, their hair is cut for wigs and they are all scared!.

Call me parent of the year, but I let my 8 year old watch part of it and he was pretty bored, actually!. Because the dialouge is so hard to follow within the music, your child is not likely to understand what's going on most of the time!. If you're talking the recent movie version, the only scary scenes would be the slashing scenes!.!.!.and IMO the blood looks fake because of the muted coloring of the rest of the film!. 13 is probably fine!.!.!.!.I wouldn't recommend it for any younger than that since it is pretty graphic, muted colors or no!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It completely depends on the child!. If they don't scare easily and they enjoy horror films then it might be an idea to let them watch it but if they aren't mature enough to cope with it all then I woulsn't allow them to watch it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm positive a 13 year old would be ok with it unless they are really sensitive to blood!. And the blood is animated anyways!.
