The difference in Alien and Predator-storywise?!

Question: The difference in Alien and Predator-storywise!?
Both films have the seven humans being stalked by a deadly alien adversary!. However, in terms of believability, do you feel that the situation and outcome in Alien made more sense than in Predator!? What I'm saying is, the seven men were all heavily-armed, highly trained military people who had the means and opportunity more than once to destroy the Predator!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Predators seem to have an intelligence approximate to human beings because the Hunter could be tricked into a trap, just as a human could!.

Aliens seem to be more animalistic and instinctive!. also, hive behavior seems to rule them!. Their main drive is to kill or to reproduce, and they obviously do not have the curiosity exhibited by the Predators!.

"Alien" might have more believability if they had included a pivotal scene!. At one point, Ripley was supposed to find Dallas cocooned, and he begged her to kill him!. Without that scene, it became the Alien killing one after another, with no rhyme nor reason!. If we had known that two or more crewmembers were hosts, the need to blow up the ship would have taken on more urgency!. Hmmm!.!.!. Are Aliens intelligent enough to operate spacecraft!? Or, would they have set the course for Earth already!? I imagine the creatures could survive a crash from what we saw of the other vessel!.

"Predator" is more solid storywise, pitting a being that obviously is an experienced hunter against a group of mercenaries!. Remember: Surprise and the camouflage of invisibility had a lot to do with weeding out his prey, as did weaponry that surpassed much of what the "mercs" had to work with!. Actually, I didn't see many opportunities for them to destroy their enemy~not if they couldn't see him most of the time!. After all, they expected whoever it was to be on the ground with them, not up in the trees!.

At the end, the Predator's curiosity about and underestimation of what he's hunting make him far too vulnerable!. When he thinks he has the last laugh~something he learned from his prey, he still is outwitted!.

I liked that they showed more of this Predator/human interchange in "Alien vs!. Pedator"!. Predators aren't simply the monsters Aliens seem to be!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The situation in Alien was just as deadly as in Predator because the Alien could sneak up on you just as the Predator could!. The Alien also had acid for blood, whereas the Predator could make himself invisible!. I think they are pretty much even as far as them trying to defend themselves against these creatures!. Even heavily armed and trained men couldn't destroy something they couldnt see, such as the Predator!. The Alien they could see, but took the chance of it bleeding thru the hull of there aircraft!. spooky stuff lol :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
