The Dark Knight most certainly did do better than any Harry Potter movie!. It broke all sorts of opening box office records (for the U!.S!. and Canada, I don't think the movie has been released anywhere else yet)!.
The records it broke include:
- The highest grossing midnight opening screening with an estimated $18!.5 million, previously held by Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith with $16!.9 million!. [1]
- The highest opening day box office gross with an estimated $67!.85 million, previously held by Spiderman 3 with $59!.8 million!. [2]
- The highest opening weekend gross with an estimated $158!.4 million, surpassing the previous record of $151!.1 also held by Spiderman 3!. [2]

Oh yeah! I watched it this weekend and it was an excellent movie! Even though Batman wasn't the star of the show, the Joker is!. But yeah next to Beverly Hills Chihuahua it is going to be one of THE best movies I have ever seen!!!
