If you have never seen any of the Star Wars movies before and you want to experience the feeling of Star Wars the way it was meant to be then the way to watch them is ep 4 -6 then ep 1 - 3 !.!.!. the way they were released!.

Since you haven't seen the movies I can't pull out some of my tried and true reasons for this because I would be giving some of the best parts of the movies away!. One way I can say it is this: In ep V: The Empire Strikes Back there is a scene in that movie that was voted by SAG as the #4 most shocking revelation in the entire history of movies!. If you watch them 1 - 6 you will lose much of the "WTF" value that scene in ep V because you will already know that "secret" and it won't seem like a big deal !.!.!. the problem with that is that it WAS a big deal back in 1980 !.!.!. it turned the whole Star Wars galaxy on its collective ear and was something that all of us major geeks debated right up until the day ep VI came out !.!.!. if you must know my "theory" on what the truth really was WAY off !.!.!. lol !.!.!.

Anyways, watch them ep 4 - 6 then ep 1 - 3 !.!.!. they will flow together much better that way!.

Ok, now on to WHY they were released the way they were!. When Lucas first "shopped" the story of Star Wars in Hollywood they laughed him out of town!. Lucas kept his old beat up note book that had "The Star Wars" on the first page of it with him while he went to work on making another movie!. As different ideas about Star Wars and other things would pop into his head he would pull out that old notebook and write it down!. He really didn't have much time to do much of that because the movie he was working on was a pretty big deal !.!.!. you might have heard of it !.!.!. American Graffiti!. After gaining some clout in the business Lucas once again started shopping Star Wars around again!. Finally 20th Century Fox sign on to do the movie!. They all still thought it would be a flop, even George to some extent, but they gave him some money and said let's see what you can do!. At that time Lucas had a 9 part story!. He decided to start with ep IV for several reasons!. The biggest of which was that in the special effects department there was nothing for them to use to do what they had to do so they had to make it all up on the fly as they were doing the movie!. The other main reason was that ep IV was the only one of the movies that could be a "stand alone" movie!. It had a beginning a middle and an end !.!.!. if it flopped then nobody would ever have to know that there were another, at that time anyways, 8 movies that could be made!.

There is a documentary on the extras disk that came with the DVD box set for the OT called "Empire Of Dreams"!. It tells how they did things to make the movie work and how the entire Star Wars saga became a legend because of a few missed phone calls!.

So in short !.!.!. if you want to experience Star Wars the way it is supposed to be experienced then watch the movies ep 4 - 6 then ep 1 - 3!.

May The Force Be With You !.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well most people say that you should watch episodes 4,5, and 6 first because they are way better!. but the orders are jumbled because episodes 1, 2, and 3 show how Darth Vadar became Darth Vadar and how everything leads up to what happens in A New Hope (episode 4)!. I say you can watch them in any order because you won't be confused!.

And I hope I didn't just confuse you more :(Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well that is not uncommon!. Batman Begins came out after many other Batman films!. The Hannibal series did a beginning film later on also!. It is not unusual at all!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
