Question: The Dark Knight:Joker Question (Spoiler Warning)!?
I saw the movie and I was wondering why the Joker told three diferent stories about how he got his scars!. Does anyone know which one is true!? Or why he told them!? It really just waisted about 2 min!. worth of the movie telling those stories!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

His reasons for giving out those stories is to psyche out his victims!. Most likely none of those were true, he was simply driving his victims to fear, in which he simply enjoys looking into their faces for their last moments of emotion, right before he kills them!. He said so in the movie, he prefers knives over guns, because guns kill quickly!.!.!.
Well, Heath Ledger's version is to be different from the Joker that we commonly know, so some of those mannerisms may be unique to that particular version of the Joker!. And to add something, his version is patterned after the 1940's era of Joker which is described as a psychotic maniac in a clown's make-up!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My dad is crazy about the joker and any other villan or superhero u can think of!.!.!.anyway the joker is a physco an hes lieing about 2 of then!.!.!.he did it himself!.!.!. but in the 1990's movie he was revieled to toxic chemicals and gasses that ruined his face!.!.and the original there was nothing wrong w/ his face he was just insane and wore make-up!Www@Enter-QA@Com
He tells those stories to mess around with our heads - and to also show us that this guy can't be trusted for any reason!. I'm not sure which one is true - maybe it's one, maybe it's neither, or maybe it's both!. It was really clever cause it shows how evil he can be and how sneaky he can be when talking to us!. I don't know for sure but I do know that all of the authors of the Batman comic books have different stories of how the joker became the Joker and how he got his scars!.

Ok, a little bit of back story on the Joker!. He was originally an engineer, whose name was never given, at a chemical plant that quit his job to be a stand up comedian, however he fails at this!. He struggles to support his pregnant wife, Jeannie, and in his moment of weakness agrees to help two criminals break into that plant he got fired from!. During the developmental stages of planning the break in, the police call and inform the man that his wife and child have been killed due to an accident!. So naturally he tries to back out of the plan right!? WRONG the criminals force him to go thru with the plan!. As soon as they enter the plant, however, a gunfight ensues, killing both of the criminals!. The ex-engineer tries to escape but is confronted by who other than the Batman! The ex-engineer becomes terrified and hurls himself over a rail and into a container of chemicals!. He survives this and surfaces in a nearby reservoir!. Changed forever!. This is in the original Batman universe!. (In some other comics the engineer is known as Jack or Red Hood!.)
In The Dark Knight, he gives TWO stories to his appearance, neither one is a truth; the Joker has been portrayed as lying so often about his former life that he himself is confused as to what actually happened, in "The Killing Joke" the Joker says "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another!.!.!. if I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!"!.!.!.however, the stories he gives in this movie are these; one is that his alchoholic father came home one night extremely drunk and cut his mouth open Black-Dahlia style all the while saying "Why so serious!? Let's put a smile on that face!" after beating his wife; the other is that his wife became disfigured and had those same scars on her face, hence she became very selfconscious about her appearance and thought that she wasn't attractive to her husband (the joker) anymore!. So in an extreme way, he decides to prove his love, by scaring his face like hers was!.!.!.she became repulsed and divorced him!. Kinda sad really!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
