Why do film-makers use a green background?!
Question: Why do film-makers use a green background!?
Why do they use a green background when they are going to digitally create a background while filming!? I understand the concept, I was just curious if anybody knew why bright green was the color used most commonly!? Thanks!Www@Enter-QA@Com

"In the digital world, green has become the favored color because digital cameras retain more detail in the green channel and it requires less light than blue!. Green not only has a higher luminance value than blue but also in early digital formats the green channel was sampled twice as often as the blue, making it easier to work with!."

its called the green screen, using this film makers can place any computer generated buildings, envrionments, and creatures, which are impossible to use with props
ex: Spider-man 3: when peter and harry are fighing in the beginning, all the biuldings aren't really there, they were filmed nest to the green school which alowed the fil makers to insert the buildings digitally
ex: Superman returns: when he saves the crashing plane, the sky and most of the plane were filmed using the green screen
PS the blue screen is a device which the camera cannot see, it acts as a cloak (watch Stuck on you and you will get an idea)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, film makers need a screen that can help them animate what ever they please!.!.!.!.!.but sometimes, if you're wearing the same color as the background, that part of your body becomes part of the back ground image!. So they picked a color that is the least used!. For example, if they made them pink screens instead if green screens, your whole body would be invisible!. Kinda coool, huh!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
It is used when filming special effects!. I think it is because it is easier to isolate the subject and the digitally add in a different background with a computer!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't think it matters that much!. Green makes objects stand out better so they can be taken to use in a background for CGI!. Blue screens can also be used!. It just has to be a pure evenly lit background!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
so they can animte impossible parts or place where peole cant go or doWww@Enter-QA@Com
Hmmmm, I don't know!. They use a bue screen to though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
