"Blade" isn't a simple action film because it has to do with supernatural beings!. Once you add that element, it is a horror film, especially when the neck-chomping starts!. Not every horror film is all that frightening; but, that doesn't take it out of the horror category!.
There are many fans of the "Blade" films!. I'm not one of them, mainly because I don't think vampire films should be all about the gore and because I've never cared for Wesley Snipes except for one film in which he played totally against type!.
Why do you say "mundane youths" when the majority of the population would tell you that "Blade" films are horror films!?
IMDb lists these genres for the films: Action | Horror | Thriller!. Go argue with IMDb, and they'll question your judgment because Vampires = Horror!
