The old "Gone in 60 Seconds" (1974) has almost no dialogue and is 105 minutes of car chases!. They wreck 93 cars in just one 40 minute scene!.
"The French Connection" has a couple of good chase scenes including one in the middle of Queens, where Gene Hackman chases an elevated train and has some fantastic crashes!. It's also a good drama!.
"Vanishing Point" (1971) with Barry Newman, he's supposed to deliver a 1970 Dodge Challenger (a muscle car) from Colorado to San Fransisco in 15 hours, there are plenty of chases!.
Two of Steve McQueen's movies have some excellent car chases, "Bullitt" (1968) and "The Getaway" (1972)!. The main chase scene in Bullitt is between McQueen's 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 and a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440!. In case you're wondering the 390 and 440 are for the cubic inches in the engines!.
"Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" (1974) with Peter Fonda and Susan George is just wild, muscle cars, cop muscle cars, trucks, even choppers take part in the chases!.
"The Driver" (1978) with Ryan O'Neal, seems ridiculous now but he was an action hero back then, he plays a professional getaway driver for bank robberies!.
