Question: Old movies vs New movies !?!?!?!?!?
If some newer movies came out long ago how would they have been received!? Would they be popular or shunned!? Supposing they were seen by the public!. For example:
Psycho (1960)
Halloween (1978)
Jaws (1975)
Monster's Ball (2001)
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Let's say these movies came out in the 1940's or 1950's, would people have liked them!?!?
Conversely, if the following films came out now, would people like them!?!?!?
Freaks (1932)
Casablanca (1942)
Gone With The Wind (1939)
Rebel Without A Cause (1955)

I know for sure Monster's Ball wouldn't have done well in the 40s and 50s, it has an interracial relationship and nudity in it!. People would have thought the rest of the rest to be graphic, violent/shocking!. People back then expected their movies to be tamer and more understated!.
I think Gone with the Wind might do well today, if we'd never had that caliber of Civil War drama/romance before!. The others wouldn't be "exciting" enough for today's audiences!. They want color, plenty of technology!.
