so I'm 12 years old and I'm going to the 7th grade next year
and my mom won't let me go to the movies with myfriends alone!
that's not fair in my opinion!
she or my dad always have to come with me!
all my friends parents let my friends go alone!
why is this!?
and dont u think 12 is old enough to let people go to the movies alone!?
when i asked her why she's like just because i dont!
the movie theater is right next to my house like not even 1/2 a mile!. You literly have to just go straight and turn a left!
i could walk there in 5 minutes!
and i live in a really safe neighborhood!

just talk to her! instead of wineing and complaining, tell her you can go with a GROUP of your friends and that if your neighborhood really is safe, then she has nothin to worry about! or if she still insists that you need to go with her tell her to watch another movie while your in a movie with your friends in one of the other rooms! :DWww@Enter-QA@Com
aw, my parents use to be like that!. strict parents suck, however you can lie and say your going to your friends house and then walk to the movies, or just tell your parents what you just wrote here and tell your mom that you would like to know a good reason why you can't go instead of he saying no and that's it!.

its just you parents opinon, its no big deal to go the movies with your parents, shes just overprotective, thats all!. be reasonable with her, she will eventually get used to the idea!. As long as she knows you will be safe, she will most likey say yes!. Mabie you could call her often, when you go out!. its just a though/Www@Enter-QA@Com
i dont know, they must be protecting you!. i went to the movies when i was 12 with my friends, (im 13 now), and my parents knew i would go to the movies, just that!.
im sure they trust you and theyre just protecting you!. theres lots of kids that cant go either, just keep asking and give them good reasons and eventually they will give in and let you, it just takes time!.

Parents can't help worrying!. You can walk there in 5 minutes but it could take a lot less than that for something bad to happen to you!.

Well, that is a tuffy and I would love to say you are right considering that I went to the movies by myself (group of friends) at that age!. How it all started for me was a friend's parents or my own would drop us off and they would walk in after we found our seats and never approached us unless we gave them reason!. Once they have had a chance to observe us with or with out our knowledge they let us eventually go by ourselves!. I am very happy they did it the way they did, it saved us from to much embarrassment!. My sister now does this with a another group of parents and so far it has worked for my nephew who is your age now!. Good luckWww@Enter-QA@Com
