1!. the scarecrow wasnt captured, he was just tasered but he got away!. he is quite important to the movie because his character shows that batman has gained a lot of experience since the first movie, he can deal with him easily now whereas in the first he struggled a lot!. also, it shows that crime in the city has gotten so bad that the main villain of the first movie is small fry in this movie!. in the movie they mention escalation, where crime gets worse and worse, his character is proof of this!. dont listen to ppl who say his character was pointless because its not!.
2!. i do, i do! but then, the movie is called the dark knight, not the joker, so i guess thats the way it has to be!.!.!.!.also, the main villain of the film is really harvey, not the joker!. he just cuts in and out of the film but the story is really the tragedy of harvey!.
3!. batman chose to take the blame for the killings that harvey commited so that harvey could retain his reputation so the city wouldnt lose hope in the justice system (harvey was a lawyer and the citys hero and it would look bad if their greatest hero was corrupted like that), so batman took the blame and let the police chase him!. that is why he is such a hero, because he is willing to take the responsibilities that noone else would, no matter how bad for him, just to save the city!.

5!. the men knew OF the joker but didnt know him personally!. he just strolled in and worked his magic!.
