I heard this a while back and while watching the movie a few minutes ago, I thought I saw something hanging in one of the scene backgrounds!. Is it true that a munchkin hung himself in the making of the movie!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

At the beginning of the "We're off to see the wizard" sequence, there is a disturbance in the trees off to the right!. This was long rumored to be one of the crew (or, by some accounts, one of the dwarf actors) committing suicide by hanging himself, but it is in fact a large bird stretching its wings!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm watching it now as we speak on TNT!. I didn't see anything!. It's a myth!. They wouldn't play the scene if it had anyone hanging themselves!.

Sorry - urban legend!.!.!.I have seen the scene in question and I believe it is just a goof from the props team or the set managers!.
