I think the lesson from all the movies is that you can't get 'a little bit dirty'!. There is no 'little bit' in joining the world of crime, as things spiral out of control beyond your control!.
Other than that, "leave the gun, take the canolis" is a good lesson should you ever whack someone in the swamps of New Jersey!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know if there are any lessons gained by watching the series, but it's more a saga of life in the Corleone family, the choices made often affect more than just one family member, and vengeance, while sweet, is only temporary solution, and more often than not, you end up either dead, alone, or with serious regrets about a life spent knee deep in crime (I think of Michael at the end of part III, where he is old, decrepit, and alone)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Never tell anyone outside of the family what you are thinking :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
