Question: There is a movie called "Network" (produced 1976)!. Why was it rated as R!?
Do you recommend that the family watches it!?
Violence is tolerable, but I don't want to see indecent scenes!. So do you recommend the film!?

I read a lot about the film and the plot sounds really cool!. But I'm hesitant!.

Thanks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Most likely, it got the R rating due to profanity and one sex scene!. However, the parental content advisory on the movie's IMDB entry describes the sex scene as non-explicit!.

Back in the 70s, even one F-bomb was enough to get a movie rated R for profanity alone!. If Network came out today, it would probably be rated PG-13, depending on what the MPAA thought of the sex scene!. So I guess the question about whether the film is family-appropriate depends on how you feel about the foul language!. Hope that helps!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, first, you have to remember that the societal standards of 1976 are a lot different than those of today!. So, while there may be some language issues (f-word, s-word, b-word) and there is a sex scene, it is not terribly explicit!. Violence is limited to really one scene!. Today, it would barely rate a PG-13!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
