how come when making movies the budget is somewhere around a million or over!.!.!.!.i know if shooting a different locations would cost like a couple thousands!.!.but how come the budget on some or mostly all of them are a million or moreWww@Enter-QA@Com

You have to consider the actor's pay, the crew, the equipment, the effects, the location as you said, the director's pay, the writer, the screenwriter, the script doctors, advertising, so on and so forth!. Everyone in the credits has to be paid unless they are volunteering their work!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Even small budget films require cameras, lighting, people and other supplies to make it work!. Think about it, if you are paying people $10 an hour to hold a light and you need 4 guys to do that and another 10 to hold cameras, do makeup etc!. Then you're talking about at MIN!. $1000 per day!. And at least 30 days to make the movie and another few months to edit it (which requires additional equipment that is really expensive to rent)!. That doesn't include sets, or actors or producers, or writers!.!.!. or even paying yourself for being there!.
If you can make a decent movie for under a million it's because you made the majority of it yourself and never paid yourself!.
also, "most movies" do NOT cost 100 million to amke!. Batman costed 80 million!. I think the guy above me forgot about the thousands of independent films that come out a year just because they didn't make a wide release!.

Napoleon Dynamite costed $2 or 3 million

Well, most movies these days cost around 100 million to make!. That is because of actor's salaries, equipment costs, production costs, staff salaries, travel costs and leasing rights!. It is very expensive to make a movie and so you have to make it good to make a profit!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
