Heath Ledger certainly portrayed him as more believable and frightening psychopath!. Nicholson's portrayal was more of someone who was enjoying himself, and the way he enjoyed himself simply involved creating mayhem and killing people!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't really think you can compare the two!. The movies were really totally different!. The way Jack played the Joker was absolutely perfect for the overall feel and theme of the movie, but Heath was perfect as well in the new darker "graphic novel" version of batman!. So the questions seems a bit unfair!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
You cant compare them!.!.!. but "put a gun to my head" and I'd have to pick Ledger!.
He was however, given alot more area to explor and the character was more vicious anyway!.

Heath Ledger!.!.!.!.everything was perfect!.!.!.from the constant licking of the lips to the way he talked to the way he looked, even his walk was great!. Perfect casting!.

Heath was better in every way!. And he was truer to the comics!. Jack did a great version of the Joker as himself, but Heath really BECAME the Joker to me!. I hardly recognized him half the time!Www@Enter-QA@Com
Jack will always be The Joker, but Heath took the role to an entirely different level!. His laugh is amazing and the way he got into it just made the movie fantastic!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
