Would you take your nine year old to see Dark knight?!

Question: Would you take your nine year old to see Dark knight!?
I know it depends upon parental discretion but not having seen the film yet it's hard to judge!. He has watched Batman Begins and Beorwolf and was fine with those sorts of films!. Is the new Batman any worse!? My son is very intelligent and mature for his age!. He does not get too easily disturbed as he is able to differentiate between reality and fantasy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

my 9 year old daughter went to see it my brother took her, she loved it, said it was a bit scary, funny, and sad but she never cried lol

it is actually a 12a whicj i thought meant you have to be 12 and accompanied by a adult!?!?!?

if he has watched beowolf he will be fine Www@Enter-QA@Com

If he's watched the movies that you've said he has above, he should definitely be fine to watch the Dark Knight!. The problem with it, is that it's 2hrs and 30min in runtime so it may be a bit long for him, but the movie is so great that he probably won't get too bored!. There might be three scenes where he might get scared:

*SPOILERS MAY FOLLOW*

1) Batman is looking for the Joker using sonar radar power, and when he looks infront of him, the Joker's laughing like a maniac as he runs towards him, and it's in the perspective of the sonar and Batman's view!. It's in one of the trailers though so you can see it for yourself first!.

2) The Joker has a videocamera and has a hostage and asks for him to say his name, and then he videotapes the hostage, and then he moves on to kill him, but the camera drops to the floor and you only hear him scream!.

3) A "fake" Batman drops down and hits a window suddenly and you can see many wounds on him, but the sudden movement might get to him!.

Once again, these scenes aren't TOO bad, but he might get scared!. Lastly, the appearance of Two-Face may scare him, but you can find pictures and use your own discretion for that!.

Just keep in mind, that this is most likely the darkest Batman movie ever made, and it all comes down to your choice as a parent!. ;)Www@Enter-QA@Com

It is a great film , the Joker is a psycho who does some bad stuff, but if your son can distinguish between reality and make believe , than sure take him!. It is more disturbing that Batman Begins, but you say he is mature for his age!. Just make sure after the film to discuss with him why the Joker did what he did, how good won over evil, and the fact that this is a movie and not real life and will not happen to him!.
Have fun!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If he's mature then sure!. But before you go into the screening make sure you tell him "don't forget if you get scared just remeber it's not real!." I will warn you it has some jumpy parts in but if he's seen Batman Begins and 300 then he suld be fine!.

ope you enjoy the film (if you see it) Www@Enter-QA@Com

I thought at the time I watched it, it should have been a 15!. There are a few gory bits - people's flesh being burnt off and the usual superpowered violence, but if he's seen 300 (which I re-watched the other night with my hands over my eyes at certain points!) and was ok with that, then I guess the Dark Knight is no worse!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sounds like he would be fine!.!.!.there are some graphic parts but over all it wasnt overly done!.!.!.there is a lot of killing and shooting but its done in a way that there was no gore or anything like that!. WIth that said there is one 20-30 min portion (on again and off again) that is kinda gorey!. from how you describe your son though he should be fineWww@Enter-QA@Com

The MPAA says, No!.
But they are stupid!. I would say it is okay!. He will probably not follow the story but the action is good and entertaining!. I would take my 9 year old to see it!.!.!. (only if he eats his peas though) ;-)

If concerned about blood and stuff then this movie is fine!. But the story is not as simple as Batman Begins or 300!. There is not really much profane language!. Just a lot of killing!.!.!. The joker is definitely creepy!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

if he doesn't get too easily disturbed by it then i don't see the problem , it only occasionally makes u jump but that might have also been the surround sound in the cinema, its very long film thoughWww@Enter-QA@Com

yes i saw the movie and i think that anyone over about 7 is old enough as long as you dont care if he sees the violence or language used!. if you are still skeptical then go see it for your self and see what you thinkWww@Enter-QA@Com

It's quite a violent movie [although most of the violence is implied rather than graphic]!. I had to look away a few times when I saw it!. In all, I would have thought the movie would suit over 15's!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If he can handle a few scenes that make you "jump" and a bit of violence etc then i guess so!. Its not so bad!. I still think the film shouldve been rated a 15 though!. Maybe go see the film yourself first!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

if i were u i personally wouldn't but thats because i got freaked out by the film!. if he's good with understanding it's not real then i'd say go for it as it's a very good actiony film!.

emz :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

thats good that he is mature for his age and can handle violence, and doesnt get disturbed easily!. because this movie has violence, some parts are sorta distrubing, but over al it was an excellent movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If he watched the entire movie of 300, then you should be perfectly fine!. The Dark Knight is just darker than typical super hero movies!. Its really good and im sure you will enjoy just as much as he will!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Personally i would want to see the film first and decide myself, but this can be expensive!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you believe your son is mature enough then yes!.
The story line may be hard for him to follow and it's very long!.
Www@Enter-QA@Com

Noooooooooooooooo it might kill him!.!.!.!.he is tooooooo young and innocent!.!.!.al that blood and gore will give hime nightmares till he turns eighteen!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He should be fine!. There's a lot of violence but he's seen others that are worse!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He should be ok Www@Enter-QA@Com

Deffinly not! Very viloent for a PG13!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No I'd say it is way to dark for someone that age!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

im not sure!.!.!.!. its you call!.

But it is a bit dark thoughWww@Enter-QA@Com

maybe I would watch it first and then decideWww@Enter-QA@Com

my 7 year old nephew saw it, which i didnt think was a good idea at the time, but he seemed fine with it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
