Question: Which is worse NC-17 OR R !?
which is worse !? me and my friend had an argument over it earlier and i said nc-17 is worse because they don't even play them in movie theaters ! So which one is worse and what is the difference between the two !? Anybody know cuz it buggin me >=/ ! lolWww@Enter-QA@Com

NC-17 means no one 17 and under can even ENTER the theater and see the movie while R you are allowed to see if you are with someone 21 and older!.
They do play them in theaters!. NC-17 used to be the rating X!.!.!. X rated used to be popular like Midnight Cowboy but a bunch of pornos came out and they rated themselves XXX so regular moviemakers didn't like that!.!.!. eventually NC-17 replaced it and Hollywood made two NC-17 films "Showgirls" and "Henry and June"!.!.!. both made NO money so HW stopped making NC-17 in wide release (you can still find some in independent theaters)!.!.!. most recent wide-ish release NC-17 film, BTW was Lust, Caution by Ang Lee!.!.!. was pretty good!. It just had some pretty raunchy sex scenes!.
So yes, NC-17 has more adult content than rated R!.!.!. but usually the MPAA rates harder on sex so usually NC-17 means more sex than usual!.!.!. for the most part, not more violence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You should watch the movie "This Film is Not Yet Rated"!. talks about the MPAA, the group of people who rate movies, and how it all works!. really great documentary, its funny and very interesting!. NC-17 because NO minor can see the film with or without an adult, however, they are shown just usually in small releases!. As well Blockbuster does not carry NC-17 movies!. It's basically a death sentence, that's why so many movies cut out parts to get an R!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Honestly R!.!.!.It depends what you find to mature!. I personally movies like Hostel with blood, gore, and just extreme violene should be considered NC-17 but no!.!.!. In the world we live in today adults are more offended by there kids seeing sex then murder!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
