Question: Someone please Explain Lotr: 3 ending for me!
I never got the lord of the rings ending when frodo, bilbo (now incredibly old w/o the ring) gandalf, and the elf king guy go off in that boat to someplace and sam is all sad that frodo isn't staying!.
Why are they all going in that boat and where is it going!? And why do they want to go there and does that place have any special effects and stuff!? Please answer, the one who answers all these questions will receive an easy 10 points, thanks!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The elves are all leaving Middle Earth - their time is done!. They are heading towards Valinor - a paradise-like land where they will continue to live (and never die, because elves will only die in battle or because of a broken heart)!. Gandalf has been granted passage due to his many acts that have saved middle earth!.
Frodo & Bilbo have also been granted a special exception and given a place in Valinor, because they were ring bearers!. Frodo's injuries never really healed, and his experiences were really keeping him from resuming his life as a regular hobbit!. He couldn't figure out a way to go back!.
There is no returning from Valinor!. (There's a hysterical quote on the actor commentary from either Billy Boyd or Dominic Monahan that Valinor is a lot like Alcatraz - once you go, you can't come back!.)
What the movie does not cover is that Sam was also given passage!. After he raises his family, becomes the Mayor of Hobbiton and his wife dies in old age, he travels to Valinor as well, to finally be reunited with Frodo!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They were headed to the land that all the elves were leaving for during the whole trilogy!. I believe it was called the Grey Havens!.

honestly i didnt get the big deal over that trilogy [bit overly dragged out for me ]!.!.!.i see it like regular movies!.!.!.!.best way to explain it to you is tell you to rent kevin smiths movie "clerks 2" !.!.!.just watch the scene where randall explains to two lotr freaks what he thought of the movies and its how i see it summed up!.!.!.!.enjoy;)Www@Enter-QA@Com
