Answers:
He uses both!. He has a lot of different names!. Aragorn is his "royal" name, it shows his birthright as a descendant of kings!. He is called Strider when he is going incognito as a Ranger, and that's how the Rangers know him and the men in the north!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Strider was only a nickname or an alias he used to hide his true identity as Aragorn, son of Arathorn!.

It is during they stay at Rivendale where Legolas speaks the Aragorn name the first time during the movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

When they all meet in Rivendale to discuss the fate of the one ring, Boromir calls him a 'meer ranger', Legolas points out that he is Aragorn, son of Arathorn!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

strider is his sort of nickname among humans, but Aragorn is his true name among the elves (and some humans) Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think Strider is the name the humans refer to him as, but from when you meet the elves he's Aragorn!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
