The Star Wars Saga has NOTHING to do with Earth and it's times, places, & events !.!.!. absolutely nothing at all!. I'm sorry if I sound rude but it boggles the mind that questions like this even need to be asked because it should be crystal clear to anyone who has seen the movies !.!.!. I mean come on !.!.!. the first thing we see in the beginning of all 6 movies is: "a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away!."
Star Trek on the other hand is a Earth based story and can be plugged into the time frames mentioned in the movies!.
