I don't claim to be a huge fan, but I've seen the show many times and have participated (a little)!.
I don't think it's a good idea to remake for one simple reason: the success of the movie is based on people who love it for exactly what it is!. It's like telling someone that they're swapping out their child for another one!. The new kid might be cuter, smarter, whatever!.!.!. but you simply can't replace you love for your child!.
Much of the attraction to the movie is in the unintentional camp!. Sure, it's supposed to be campy!. But the bulk of the audience participation, at least in my experience, is around the stuff that seems not-quite intended!.
So, while I think there will be plenty of people to see a remake, I think it'll end up being a totally different thing!. And that thing, given the cult that follows the first one, can't possibly see enough love to be anything other than a curiosity and fodder for people to complain!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think its a terrible idea and the only way it would stand a chance is if it has someone like tim burton directing it - and have russell brand / eddie izzard as frank! quite like the idea of helena bonham carter as magenta though as a previous poster suggested!

Well, when The Rocky Horror Picture Show first came out in 1975, a lot of people didn't like it!. It took a few years for it to actually be celebrated!. How are they going to do that with a remake!?!? I think it's a bad idea!. I love The Rocky Horror Picture Show!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't have high hopes for it especially if it's being made by MTV!. I just hope they don't completely butcher it!. I'm also scared of the cast!. I hope they cast Jack Black as Eddie and Helena Bonham Carter as Magenta!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
