Answers:
"The powder room" is a euphemism for "restroom"/"bathroom"!. Practically all women used that phrase to excuse themselves to either tend to the need for a bathroom and to fix their hair and makeup, not just Holly's type!. Often, more than one woman in a group would go, especially if they wanted the opportunity to talk about the men they were with!. Basically, the wording is more ladylike!.

As for the $50, that is the cost of Holly's company though it might not always be for sex; often, she's just decoration!. You might hear women in older films asking for money for the powder room or for cabfare~generally under the same circumstances!. But, not all women who make the request are like Holly!. also, many times there were attendants, and it was customary to leave a tip!. (Check out "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", when Ferris is at the fancy restaurant!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Powder Room is a restroom and I belive that in some resturants they have people in there with perfumes and stuff and so I assume that she would use the money to get a spray of perfume, or maybe she kept the money for herself because I don't think she had an actual job she depended on the men for moneyWww@Enter-QA@Com

Holly Golightly would take men into the "powder room" for $50!. She was prostituting herself!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
