In your opinion, should Disney pay for the plot they stole for the Lion King?!

Question: In your opinion, should Disney pay for the plot they stole for the Lion King!?
If you haven't heard about this, basically Disney stole the majority of the plot for The Lion King from a Japanese film about a white lion called Kimba!. The story goes that they were initially going to do a remake of the film, then couldn't secure the rights for it!.

So they renamed Kimba to Simba, changed him from a white lion, but kept every other character pretty much in the original Japanese film!.

Should Disney pay the original creators with some of the billions they have made from merchandising!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
HELL YES they should pay! Those who think ripping someone's plot off isn't a crime, clearly doesn't know anything about copyright laws!.

I read an article recently about this whole situation and I find it quite shocking that because Disney couldn't secure the rights, they just changed some minor details!. I guess it shows the kind of company they are, if they can't get something the legal way, they will just take it!.

Someone really needs to take Disney down a peg or two!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Most of Disney's movies are remakes or retellings of stories from different cultures or places!. If they change enough details, and yes, even a K to an S will suffice, they owe nothing to the original creators!. As unfair as it is, they owe nothing to the Japanese film makers of Kimba!.

They took something they liked from a culture that American children wouldn't have seen, and gave it to people so that their lives would be enriched by it!. I don't see that as a crime!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Oh my gosh, I had no idea!. All my memories of childhood Disney movies have been tarnished!.

I think if the makers of the Japanese movie brought this case to court or something than they might have a shot at winning, but nowadays changing the name by 1 letter would probably be enough to let Disney scrape by without paying any money!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm sure most ideas and plots are stolen these days!. It was so long ago, i'd forget it!. Plus i thought Lion King was meant to be based on Richard IIIWww@Enter-QA@Com

They robbed the idea of Aladdin aswellWww@Enter-QA@Com

Very long while for the Japanese to be worrying about that isn't it!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
