There are several variations of the tale in past tellings of the Joker's origins; I believe the most popular version has it that a bullet from his own gun ricocheted off some nearby machinery and pierced both cheeks just as he fell into a vat of mixed chemicals, causing nerve damage that resulted in his perma-grin!. Another has it that the chemicals themselves caused the nerve damage!. Still another has it that he is an ex-comedian who went crazy one day and grins because he simply can't help himself!.

Because his dad got drunk when he was younger and started beating the joker's mom!. then he said, "why so serious" meaning, why do you have such a serious face on, then he made those cuts on his face so he couldn't frown, it'd always look lik he was smiling!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
