Why is Harry Potter postponed?!

Question: Why is Harry Potter postponed!?
Answers:
They didn't tell the real reason, but it seems that thye changed the date because they would make more money!.

"Lots of news has been circulating around the web relating to Half-Blood Prince's move to July 17th!. This post will cover several stories related to the move!.

First up, Summit Entertainment, the company behind the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's first Twilight novel, has announced that the film will take Half-Blood Prince's spot on November 21st!. Summit "saw a unique opportunity to slot in [their] film which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months!." They were also quick to say that "by no means are [they] trying to fill the shoes of the incredible POTTER franchise for 2008!."

Second, disgruntled Potter fans are using the internet to be very vocal about the move!. Facebook groups, clever YouTube videos, and online petitions (that one in particular has over 23,000 signatures) have been trying to make their mark on WB!.

Next, IGN has an article online which wonders whether or not the video game will be seeing a delay!. The game was set to be shipped this November at the same time as the film's release, but that is now up in the air!. An EA spokesperson told IGN "We are making a great game that Harry Potter fans will really enjoy -- we are evaluating the impact of the movie date change!."

Last, a bit of an absurd story comes from an article on FOX news!. FOX believes the film was delayed because Warner Brothers doesn't want Dan Radcliffe's good Potter image to be tarnished with Equus!. We know that this is not true, as WB has been openly supportive of Dan's stage play ventures!." Www@Enter-QA@Com

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was moved from premiering on November 21st 2008 to July 17th 2009 due to the fact that previous Harry movies made more money when the premiered over the summer than during the Thanksgiving/Christmas seasons!. It's a simple matter of history!. There were more people able to see it and have the time and money to see it 2-3 times in the summer than over the winter holidays!. Probably because they would see the movie and spend the rest of their time and money buying Christmas gifts, so wouldn't have the time or funds to go back and see Harry for a second time!.

That's the news I've heard, hope it answers your question!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The film, the sixth in the popular boy wizard franchise, was due to be released by Warner Bros!. on November 11 2008, but the studio has now said it won't hit theaters until July 17, 2009!.

In a statement, Warners president Alan Horn said part of the reason for the shift was the writers strike, which left the studio in a bit of a dearth of tentpoles!.

"Like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films-changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of," he said!. "We agreed the best strategy was to move Half-Blood Prince to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer!."

The last Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, was released July 11, 2007, and it became the second-largest entry from the series after the first movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The official story is that because of the writer's strike there aren't enough movies scheduled to come out next summer!. The decided to release Harry Potter then so that they can make money and spread out the movies they have made!.

The unofficial story is that Daniel Radcliffe (who plays Harry Potter) is coming to the US in September with his play Equus where he is naked on stage and having sex!. The studio worries that this gives a bad image and people won't want to go see a kids movie with him!.

Because they're greedy: the producers think that they'll make more money in the summer months because their numbers show more "box office hits" have come out in summer months!. They're going to milk the Harry Potter franchise for all they can!. Did you hear that they're splitting the last movie into two parts!? Twice the money for them but more of a wait for the fans, it's sick!Www@Enter-QA@Com

well i was absolutly furious with them for such a thing and i think the fans (which means us) should persuade them and they will listen to us, i mean a year is just sooo much 17th of july is just wayy tooo farrrr !.!.!.when i read i said "NOWAY!.!.!.THEY MUST BE JOKING" i mean we've been waiting for the movie ever since we saw the one before it and i sooooo wanted this exact one because i love the book soo much and i've been waiting forever for the trailer and jumped up and down when it came out NOW THEY POSTPONE IT COME ONNNNNNNNN!!!
and they said that it has nothing to do with twilight which i think is untrue!.!.!.so don't trouble yourself no one actully knows why!? it's really frustrating does any one know how to email the producers or something they simply can't do this to the fansWww@Enter-QA@Com

Because of Twilight!.

Twilight was supposed to be out in December, Harry Potter in November!? I think!. And now Twilight is in November and Harry Potter is in July 09!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Its not because of Twilight, its because of the aftermath of the writer strike and because they want to make more money by releasing in the summer than in Nov!. Mainly so that they can make more money to fill their pockets!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because of the writer's strike, at least that's what they are saying even though it's in post-production and they've already got the next movie in the works!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

because it would be competing with daniel radcliffe's play Equss (or something like that!?)
and they also said that they want it to come out in the summer, to make it more of a family film!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

because daniel radcliffe is staring in broadway for the stage show equus when it is meant to be released and there is a new opening to open a film in the summer instead of novemberWww@Enter-QA@Com

They want to make as much money as possible opening weekend, so they moved it to a long weekend, when no other obvious blockbusters are scheduled to open!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because they're greedy: the producers think that they'll make more money in the summer months because their numbers show more "box office hits" have come out in summer months!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

they say its gotta do with the writers strike
i say they didn't wanna compete with twilight thought it did get pushed ahead now Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's not!. Harry finished going to Hogwarts!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because Daniel Radcliffe hasn't hit puberty yet!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
