It is a little more complicated than the previous answer!. Admittedly, he does tell Moss that he is going to kill his wife unless he turns himself in, so he travels to keep his promise!. He does, however, decide to give her a chance, by flipping the coin, the elliptical edit not letting us see what happens!.
However, you will notice that the first thing he does upon exiting the house (in the exterior shot) is check the soles of both his shoes!. This is obviously a reference to earlier in the movie, when he does the same thing, and you'll also perhaps remember him lifting his feet so as not to get blood on his shoes after he kills Woody Harrelson's character!.
It is a very subtle and understated way to tell us that he killed Carla!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Carla refused to give in to his coin-flipping and I'm guessing he did kill her - he did check the soles of his shoes for blood (obviously) and he was a homicidal psycho who took enjoyment from killing people, and killing Carla (despite her moving speech) was something he would've done without blinking!. If she'd have gone along with his whole coin-flipping, she would've had a 50-50 chance of surviving or dying - refusing him resulted in her immediate death!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
without a doubt!.!.!.the whole movie , Chigruh was known for his code of honor!.!.!.no matter how defective it was, he lived by his beliefs and his word!.!.!.he promised Llewln what was in store!.!.!.he did this not only as a threat but as a promise!.!.!.even though they never actually met!.!.!.they could both see the end!.!.!.just because Llewln was killed by outside interference, never changed the code of ethics Chigurh had established!.!.!.he promised this thing would happen, and no outside influence changed his strict ideals!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
