A question about movies...?!

Question: A question about movies!.!.!.!?
In most movies that aren't action films, why is it that if one of the characters (or a couple of them) happens to carry a gun, its always a revolver of some sort!? and usually with a short barrel too!. i just cant understand it!. do movie makers have a problem with normal looking guns, or even ranged capability!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
my theory on that is that revolvers are generally cheaper and smaller, therefore easier to carry!. so in a non-action film where a random person has a gun, it would seem more normal!.
also! revolvers are easy starter guns!. so if the character wouldn't normally have a gun, it would seem more realistic for them to have just a revolver!.
but then again, i can't read the filmmakers minds :] haha!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
