Question: How do I put DVDs on my iPod!?
Key: Without spending money on fancy programs to rip the DVD!. I tried the Cucusoft trial, but then you can barely see anything good, cause the words "Trial Version" are in the middle of the screen!. First, you'll want to get a copy of DVD Shrink so you can backup the files from the DVD to the computer!. This program is also very useful to make DVD backups of the movies you already own and shrink them down to fit on a single layer DVD, since almost every DVD you purchase uses two layers!.
Next, you'll need to convert the ripped video into a compressed format your ipod can understand!. I use Videora and have had no problems with it so far!. I downloaded xilisoft dvd to iphone!. I have a video ipod myself, but the format is the same for both the ipod and iphone!.

click on the blue "download" button next to the red "buy now" button!. I know that this is the program I use and think this is the way I got it!. I definitely know I didn't spend a dime!.
Stick the dvd into your disk drive and start up xilisoft!. Once started, press the "disk" icon to open up the files on the dvd!. Once the different files appear, check which ones you want to convert!. I just look for the really big file and convert that one!. There's usually a small one above it that I don't bother to convert because it's usually previews or dvd menus or wwhatever!. Anyhow, be sure to choose a destination for the converted video!. also, remember to pick the right format, whether it be standard or widescreen!. Then just hit the "rip" icon and wait!. iPod only reads mp4, You need third party software to convert dvd to MP4, use handbrake(free)

iPod can only support mpeg4 video!.
