Name of a movie [70's/80's] about clones and fire?!

I saw a movie when I was a little kid (I'm in my late 20's now) and it has stuck with me, but I have no idea what it is!.!.!.The plot focused around cloned girls that shared traumatic memories regarding a fire that I think maybe killed the girl from whom they were cloned (!?)!. One of the triggers, at a pivotal point in the film, was the twinkling earrings of an adult woman (who turns out to be the original clone)!. I think she was trying to save the cloned girl in question, since the project was deemed a failure, which meant the clones would've been destroyed!.

I'd assume, since I saw this on TV, that the movie was made in the 70's or maybe early 80's!.
