Alright, I've finally been convinced to give Star Wars a try!. I'm completely new to it and anything like it!. So tell me, because I'm pretty confused, what order do I watch them in!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
"Have A Laugh" really should "Get A Clue" because he could not be more WRONG!.

This question gets asked a lot and while there may be some like "Have A Laugh" who will say to watch them 1 - 6, the simple truth is that if you want to enjoy the full experience of the Star Wars saga then you should watch them ep 4 – ep 6 then ep 1 – ep 3!. Why !.!.!. well this is just my "theory" but it holds a couple oceans of water!.

Start with the fact that they were released that way and that is how the story was meant to be told!. Watching them this way will also keep the "suspense" in them!. Both of the trilogies "tell" on the secrets of the others but the prequels take much of the suspense out of the OT with some of the info learned in them!. There is a scene in episode V: The Empire Strikes Back that was voted # 4 by SAG as one of the most shocking revelations in the entire history of film !.!.!. if you watch them 1 - 3 then 4 - 6 you will lose the "WTF" value it carried in 1980 because you will already know what it is and it won't seem like a big deal to you!. The problem with that is that this event WAS a big deal to the saga itself!. It basically took everything we thought we knew and tossed it into the recycle bin!. To this day I remember what happened in the theater I was in to watch this movie for the first time and heard Darth Vader utter 5 words that turned the Star Wars saga upside down !.!.!. absolute silence !.!.!. you could have heard a pin drop 10 miles away !.!.!. we were stunned silent by this "revelation" !.!.!. this went on for about 10 seconds then from somewhere in the theater someone yelled, screamed actually, LIAR !.!.!. everybody joined in with he's lying Luke, don't believe him Luke, he's full of Sith !.!.!. don't believe him !.!.!. yeah, someone actually said he's full of Sith !.!.!. and it went on until Luke made his decision and then another cheer went up in the crowd!. Yeah, that's the kind of "crazy" we were back then !.!.!. this trilogy grabbed the people of my generation and said !.!.!. you think that was cool !.!.!. watch this!. It's kind of like it was back in the 50s when all the kids were listening to that "Devil Music" called Rock n Roll!. It was one of those things that had to be felt not seen!. I doubt we will ever seen any movie in any genre that will come close to topping this saga !.!.!.

There is one other thing to decide also with respect to the OT (ep 4 – ep 6) … there are 3 versions of these movies … the ones that came out to theaters in 77 – 83 … the SE versions that came to theaters in 97 … and the DVD versions that came out in 2004!. Is there much difference between the 3 versions … for the most part no!. The main thing that was changed was picture quality and sound quality!. Lucas did change some scenes and did add some small scenes!. I would suggest you watch the DVD versions as they are the “final” word according to Lucas!. If you’ve never seen the movies and watch the DVD versions you won’t know why many, many fans want to smack Lucas up side the head for the change he made to the end of ep 6 but I have no doubts you will be able to find someone who will tell you about it!.

May The Force Be With You !.!.!.

EDIT: I love how people say the FX was better in the prequels so if you watch them first you'll be disappointed with the OT!. They seem to forget that at the time they were made the OT were seen as the cutting edge of FX and the big thing !.!.!. Lucas and friends came up with all that stuff on the fly while making the movies!. If you see a movie today that is heavy with FX you will see something in the credits that goes directly to Lucas for how it was done!. As for the "acting" being horrible in the prequels !.!.!. well it ain't very good but a lot of that is because the scripts weren't all that good either!. Lucas relied a lot on the "WOW" factor in the prequels because the FX is beyond stunning!. Lucas forgot that what makes a Star Wars movie good isn't all the different ways that you can blow things up, it's the underlying story and in ep 1 & 2 that story wasn't very good!. ep 3 got better but that movie was carried by the action anyways!.

The people who say to not even bother with the prequels, well to them I say !.!.!. how DARE you!. You may not like them but you don't know if the person you are giving "advise" to will like them or not!. You are being beyond irresponsible by saying that to someone !.!.!. although I doubt any of you give a damn about that little fact!.

Unless you find that you really like the movies then you could probably skip the animated micro-series that ran on the Cartoon Network in 2003 & 2004, the animated movie in theaters right now and the new animated series that will debut Oct 3rd this fall !.!.!. they are a lot of background on the major parts and characters of the movies!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Just watch Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back only!. Those two movies are extremely brilliant and awesome!.

Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi has it's moments, but it's actually really bad!. The prequels, especially The Phantom Menace are all horrible films!. Badly acted and the special effects are so fake looking!. The dialouge in the prequels are pretty bad too!.

Just stick to A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back!. Those are exceptional movies!. The rest are extremely bad!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Star Wars Episode IV: The New Hope
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Star Wars Episode VI: The Empire Strikes Back

It's simple as that!.

If anyone says something like "4,5,6,1,2,3", don't listen to them!. !. !.that's how they count these days!. !. !.

The real reason is that, you might not understand a few parts if you watch it "4,5,6,1,2,3", or you might not get anything at all watching like that!.

Oh and be sure to watch Star Wars: Clone Wars, the new animation one!. That's how you'll understand the transition between the 2nd and 3rd one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

with my personal experience, i saw the new three and then i thought the older three weren't very good because the graphics and everything seem so bad next to the originals!. so i would suggest seeing the older three first and then the new ones but if you want to just have an ongoing story, then jsut watch the new ones firstWww@Enter-QA@Com

You should watch the Original Trilogy first, then the episodes 1-3!. You'll get it much better, which is why they came out with Star Wars like that, so the impact is much greater when the big secret reveals itself in episode 5!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
