Why do movies' ratings change?!

Question: Why do movies' ratings change!?
I've seen it with a few movies!.!.!.
The best example I can think of is with this movie: Don't Tell Mom the Baby Sitter's Dead!.

In theaters it was released as being rated PG-13!. On video (VHS, because dvd's weren't out yet) it was rated R!. And now on dvd, it is rated PG!. PG!? With an 'F'-word or two in it, huh!? Strange!.
This movie is the most extreme case I know of!.

*I am -not- saying I can't take bad language in movies, I am just wondering if anyone knows why movie ratings change like this!. Just curious if anyone has insight!. Thanks!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The harshness of movie ratings changes over time and sometimes they feel that a movie should be re rated!. I am not sure why it would be released as Pg-13 than PG!. thats wierdWww@Enter-QA@Com

Well movie ratings change because of different places!. For example Prom night is PG-13 in USA, but in Canada its 14a!. I think they change them because they don't want people to complain, but from this happening, they do!. I do think its bullshit but its the companies fault!. Hope that helped!.=]Www@Enter-QA@Com
