Help me out with this film title.?!

Three American airmen crash on a desert island and one of them looks like the islanders god who they worship!. I think they escape by turning a Japanese plane that has also crashed on the island into an American one by painting over the Japanese Sun on the wings!. It starts to rain and the paint is washed up and they are shot down by their own mates!. Oh and I'm sure they sing a song called "What a day, what a day, what a beautiful day" OK any takers!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
