First time I've listened to it, thanks for the link! Overall, I can live with 'Another Way to Die'!. I've always preferred Bond themes with an edge such as 'Thunderball' or 'Live and Let Die' over love ballads like 'Spy Who Loved Me' or 'For Your Eyes Only'!. Oddly enough, 'Another Way to Die' reminds me slightly of John Barry's 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' - that downbeat sound!.
I'd read this was supposed to be a duet from Jack White and Alica Keys, but I can only make out a male voice through most of the song, might need a bit more mix to even things out!. I like how the lyrics seem to tear down the public impression of Bond!. The Bond of the novels and the Bond of the films are two different animals!.
Speaking of which, Quantum of Solace takes its name from a James Bond short story about a dinner party conversation!. Bond is told a tale in which he learns marriage /love/ interpersonal relationships may be far more dangerous and heart wrenching than his own adventures!. Curious how the film version will play out!.
