Answers:
Well to be honest both are good movies, but Ridley Scott's Aliens was far more interesting to me personally because James Camerson's perspectivus on extraterresterial matters was far more intriguing and action packed than Steven Spielberg's attempt and Richard Dreyfuss's performance in Close Encounters of the Third Kind wasn't as palpable or intense as the dogmatic performance given by Sigourney Weaver, though both were good movies in their own right!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Between the two, Close Encounters is my favorite, because I'm a big fan of Spielberg!. E!.T!. is my favorite movie ever and Close Encounters is pretty close!.

There is just so much to love about these two movies!. They are the director's two most personal and intimate works!. So many details in both movies but I'll focus on Close Encounters since that was what you asked:

* The actor who played Lacombe (the French scientist) was Francois Truffaut, one of the most influential film directors of all time, and a great idol and influence to Spielberg!. The major themes of Truffaut's films are prominent in Spielberg's as well: communication, relationships, childhood, destiny!. The theme of communication resonates most prominently during the Lacombe scenes!.

* Of course, there's Richard Dreyfuss's infamous reaction shots!. He frequently tells the story about Spielberg describing what his character is supposed to be feeling during this shot!. When Dreyfuss asks, "What am I looking at exactly!?", Spielberg responds, "I don't know yet!."

* My favorite part is when the astronauts are set to board the mother ship, but are turned away!

* My second favorite part is when Lacombe asks the people on the mountain in India where the sounds came from, and they all point up at the sky (I love the camera work)!.
