Answers:
The Life Before Her Eyes- About a woman that lives with the emotional issues of witnessing a high school shooting in which she watched her best friend die !.

Thirteen- About a girl named Tracy who goes from good to bad with the influence from the new girl Evie who is "fast" and introduces her to sex, alcohol, drugs; all of this happens while they are only thirteen years old!.

White Oleander- About Astrid,a young teen that is being raised by her single mom she is very close to!. Then her mom kills her own boyfriend after he dumps her, gets arrested which leads to the daughter being placed in foster care!.While she is in foster care she goes from home to home with and every home her situation seems to get worse -she gets shot, starved, attacked by dogs, beat up and more!. It was a good movie but I have to say I prefer the book only because the movie totally leaves out some of the experiences she went through!. You should read the book first!.

Eve's Bayou- About Eve, a girl growing up in a prominent black family on the bayou of Louisiana!. She is the classic middle child; her little brother is the spoiled baby, her older sister is her dad's favorite, and she is stuck somwhere in the middle!. To top that off, she shares her aunts"gift of sight" or ESP!. She thinks her dad who is the only black doctor in the town is perfect and longs for the attention her sister gets!. Eve soon comes to realize he constanlty cheats on her mother with his female patients and other women in the town- in the end that causes a bad turn of events I won't give it away though lol!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

That is a list of films about coming to age!. I have seen some of them and i know about some of them!. I think you should watch Little Women, Dead Poets Society (sad), Forrest Gump, Lean on Me, and the Fox and the Hound is actually really good even if its a cartoon!. lol

The Fox and the Hound is about a fox and dog that grow up as friends!. But when they get older, they learn that the hound must hunt the fox, even though the fox still wants to be friends!. Its sad as well, but i think it really fits with what ur looking for!.

Leon on me and Dead Poets Society are about students coming to age in school!.

The person before me put the movie Thirteen, I would recommend that as well!. Good movie!.

I almost forgot, This Boy's Life
that is definentaly good!. With Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Deniro!. About a lil boy growing up in his step father's house who tortures him!. It's really good, u gotta watch it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Dead Poet's Society is really good!. About a boys private school and a teachers ability to influence them against the norms of society!. also Dear Frankie is good!. It's about a little boy who is def and his mother tires to protect him from his abusive father by saying he's a sailor!. Then she has someone pose as the father and Frankie kind of figures it out!. Then About a Boy with Hugh Grant is sort of along the same lines!. It's good too!. Good luck on the paper!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The War

The Basketball Diaries

Once in a while he gets stoned with his friends, and step by step, he falls into the dark world of crime and drugs!. Pay It Forward
Young Trevor McKinney, troubled by his mother's alcoholism and fears of his abusive but absent father, is caught up by an intriguing assignment from his new social studies teacher, Mr!. Simonet!. The assignment: think of something to change the world and put it into action!. Trevor conjures the notion of paying a favor not back, but forward--repaying good deeds not with payback, but with new good deeds done to three new people!. Trevor's efforts to make good on his idea bring a revolution not only in the lives of himself, his mother and his physically and emotionally scarred teacher, but in those of an ever-widening circle of people completely unknown to him

Disney's The Kid
Bruce Willis plays Russ, a 40-year-old, self-centered but successful "image consultant" who is failing in his personal life!. The movie begins with his girlfriend telling him, "Every time I'm ready to walk away because I think you'll never be able to love, I see the little boy in you and what you could be!." Shortly after that Russ finds an 8-year-old boy wandering about his home, and then discovers that the boy is none other than himself!. He rejects the boy: "Get out of my life!. I want nothing to do with you!. You are my past and I'm finished with you!." Fortunately, the boy refuses to leave and little by little Russ comes to embrace him!. You can watch the movie to see how things turn out, but the important point is this: Many individuals who suffered in childhood do not realize that their adult relationship problems are directly related to their unhealed emotional wounds from childhood!. This powerful movie brings to life the process of learning to embrace one's wounded child and the personal growth that follows from such healing!.

Hope this helps!!
