Question: How do you become an EXTRA in movies!?
What's the best first step a person should take to trying to become an extra!?
It seems like it would be an fun job to do!.
Do I get head shots, an agent!?

You need to check in with the local town/city film commission!. They have lists of on going productions!. You will need a head shot!. You can contact the production company and ask about extras casting they will direct you to the right people!.
THEN if you are lucky and chosen you will be paid aprox $50 -$150 (if they are paying at all) and you will sit around for 12-14 hours a day waiting to be used!. You will be bored, you will not get to hang out and talk to the stars!. You will do what they want you to do and then be sent home for the day!. You might start at 7am and not work till 5 that night!. it all depends on how they are doing that day and if they schedule things the right way!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you want to be an extra, you should audition for a part in the movie!. Most of these auditions happen in Hollywood, so unless you live there, it can be hard to get a part as an extra!. The other way to become an extra is to know people in the movie business and ask them to get you a role!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
You can try an agent if you wish, but you should read your local newspaper to see if a film company needs extras if one is filming in your area!. Sometimes, they might ask if people could park their cars on the street to give the scene more 'life' If you want to take acting as a career, I'd say join a theatre group and do get an agent!. good luckWww@Enter-QA@Com
I'm not sure but I think you must join the actors union!.I believe it is ACTRA !.I think this is to protect the actors get paid for their work at an acceptable rate!.Keep in mind that a lot of scenes are retaken so you might be doing a lot of waiting!.However it does seem like it would be interesting work!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
