If Robots are to programmed to follow the 3rd Law of Issac Asimov?!

Question: If Robots are to programmed to follow the 3rd Law of Issac Asimov!?
We all know that the 3rd law of of robots is that they will not harm humans or allow harm to come to humans, so why were the robots in the film "Short Circuit" originally constructed to fight Soviet Soldiers!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
The movie took place in a different universe!.

Either that, or someone made special Robots able to break that first law, with some sort of zappage of that circuit in their brain, which is why the movie is called Short Circuit!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hi there!.
That is the First Law of Asimov!. The Second Law is that a robot must protect its own existence where that doesn't conflict with the First Law, the Third Law is that the robot must obey orders as long as they don't conflict with the First and Second Laws!.

As for Short Circuit, that deals with the far more likely scenario that the US military will ignore Asimov and go straight for Terminator-like killing machine as soon as possible - have you seen the way they train humans to kill!? Why would a machine be let off!?

The three laws of robotics were written years ago by one specific author!. Other writers have used thid theme in their writing many times over, but the three laws are not a universal programming that applies to all robots, real or in fiction, or there would never be Terminators or the E!.D!.5000 from Robocop!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's obvious that those robots weren't programmed with the laws of Asimov!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
