Question: Is josie and the pussycats a real band or was it just for a movie!?
i was wondering if the actors as josie and the pussycats actually played and sang!. i really want to know!. and if they really at one point were a band!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The 3 girls,Rachael Tara and Rosario,did learn to play the instruments for the movie josie and the pussycats,by the end of the movie Rachael and rosario could play the guitar and tara became a very good drummer,as for the singing some of it was them and some of it wasn't
The girls went their separate ways after filming and never played together as a band again!.Yes they where a real band in the movie,but not after,which is kind of a shame cause they were good!.

No they are just actors!. The woman who really sang in the movie (it wasn't Rachael Leigh Cook, the actress playing Josie) is named Kay Hanley and was in a band called Letters to Cleo that has a very similar sound to the music written for Josie and the Pussycats!. If you enjoyed the soundtrack I would recommend trying some of their music!.

The movie was based on the cartoon from the 70s!. I'm not sure if they actually played the instruments, I know that they didn't really sing because if you look on the soundtrack it lists someone else's name!.
