Question & comments about the film "We are Marshall"?!

Question: Question & comments about the film "We are Marshall"!?
First of all, let me just say that this movie was almost as depressing as "The Notebook" for me!. This was a true story that took place right around the time I was born (1970) so I'm too young to recall this tragedy for real!.

Questions:
1) What did you think of this movie!?
2) Are you old enough to remember this tragedy as it unfolded!?
3) Are you connected with West Virginia in any way!?

Thanks!.!.!.!.!.!.!.and I look forward to your answers/comments!.

Not only do I remember the actual event, but both sides of my family are from Huntington, West Virginia! MY family never lived in Huntington, but we visited relatives there every year!. My Mom and Dad's families are both from Huntington!. [and, NO, they were not related prior to marriage! LOL] In fact, my parents are both laid to rest in Huntington, along with MANY other family members!. I still have many living relatives there too!. I have several relatives who are Marshall grads also!.

The movie really made us all cry!. The footage of Huntington got us all saying awwwwwwww!. When it happened, everyone was VERY broken up about it!. Many thought there would never be football at Marshall again!. The Marshall Memorial, in fact, is in the same cemetery where my parents are!. [my parents had retired to NC, but we had them buried in Huntingon!.!.another story]

It WAS a sad movie, but is WAS a sad event!. Admittedly, I was a 12 year old kid in 1970, but my aunt and uncle thought the movie was pretty accurate!.
Thanks for asking!.

1!. I didn't like the movie very much!. It had annoying acting, choppy football scenes, and too melodramatic!. They shoud've tried to make it less of a cliche inspirational football movie, and make it into a heartfelt drama!. Personally I think the families of the victims deserved a better tribute!.
2!. I'm 17 so I'm not really familiar with the tragedy!.

Heal your depression by watching "Facing the Giants"!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

This is the story of the football team who died in a plane crash right!? I remember when I rented it and then watched it I did like it!. I don't remember this in true life no, as I was not born yet!. (my hubby was though! However he too was just a newborn) I am not connected with West Virginia in any way, shape, form or by any starbucks related to them!.

What is up with starbucks popping up on every single street corner!?

Oh wait, that is a whole new question with an entire world of it's own!.

Back to we are marshall---- are we!? (hehe)

edit: hehe, well we will have all eternity to converse therefore I do hope witty conversations will be greatly appreciated!. As I know many WITS who will be there! : )Www@Enter-QA@Com
